At IntelligenceBank, we talk a lot about helping marketing teams move faster without losing control. What we don’t talk about enough is how much we rely on our own platform to do exactly that.
Like most marketing teams, we produce a constant stream of content. Blogs, webinars, podcasts, social posts, partner campaigns and the like. The volume adds up quickly, and it’s easy to run into frustrating bottlenecks given limited design bandwidth.
We needed to give more people the power to create on-brand work right from within our Digital Asset Management (DAM) platform. That’s why we used our own solution to allow anyone in the company (regardless of design skills) to produce professional content at scale with self-serve creative templates.
How Creative Templates Work
Instead of redesigning assets from scratch each time, our designer created a standard set of templates inside the IntelligenceBank platform. Some elements are locked to protect the brand, while others are left editable for personalization.
For example:
- A web banner design may only be allowed to appear in two specific sizes due to layout constrictions.
- An eBook cover may only allow upload from an assortment of pre-approved assets in the DAM.
- Social media tiles have text size restrictions.
- Space for a vertical or horizontal partner logo is allowed for on a webinar promotion.

These templates are then made available for users to edit within the parameters set by Design. For instance, if permitted, you can upload different images from the DAM, change ad copy and output to the size you need.
All that’s left to do is click ‘download’.

Where Creative Templates Made the Biggest Impact for Us
We started by identifying the content types we produced over and over again. Not one-off campaigns, but the everyday assets that quietly consumed the most time.
Three categories stood out immediately.
Podcasts, Events and Guest Webinars
Podcasts, live events, and guest webinars all follow a similar formula. The structure stays the same, but the details change every time. New speakers, new headshots, new dates, addresses, titles etc.
Now anyone on the team can simply fly in a guest headshot, update the details and download the asset. What used to require multiple design touchpoints now takes minutes, while still meeting brand and compliance standards.

Social Media Content
Social media was where speed mattered most and where brand risk showed up fastest.
Using Creative Templates, we standardized common post formats while allowing flexibility for messaging. Campaign announcements, podcast promotions, event reminders and product updates all now follow approved layouts.
Marketers and copywriters can create social assets themselves, knowing the brand rules are built into the template. Designers can now focus on higher value creative work instead of resizing and reformatting.

Blog Mastheads
Blog content moves fast and web graphics must be precise. We needed a masthead template that allowed contributors to update headlines, imagery and supporting text without changing the underlying design.
This ensures every article is launched with a polished, on-brand visual, even when timelines are tight. The result is fewer delays at publish time and far less back-and-forth with design.

eBook Cover Updates
eBooks present a different challenge. They are higher-value assets, often tied to campaigns, partners or gated content so they need to look super-polished while still moving quickly through production.
We created eBook cover templates that maintain a consistent visual system while allowing controlled flexibility. Contributors can update titles, subtitles and featured imagery using pre-approved assets stored in the DAM, while fonts, layout, spacing and brand elements remain locked.
This approach allows the marketing team to spin up new eBook covers or update existing ones without waiting on design, while still ensuring every asset looks intentional and aligned with the IntelligenceBank brand.

Creative Templates are not about limiting creativity. They’re about designing repeatable systems for the work that happens every day.
By using Creative Templates across our collateral, we built a workflow that balances speed, control and quality. And that is exactly the outcome we help our customers achieve.
