Key Highlights

IntelligenceBank has become a foundational tool for the McNab Group, streamlining creative workflows and empowering brand consistency across multiple business units:

  • Centralised asset management: Over 45,000 assets migrated from legacy systems into a structured Digital Asset Management system (DAM), including project photography, drone footage, headshots and templates.

  • First ever brand guidelines: Digitised brand standards for McNab’s expanding portfolio of businesses including Supplyhaus and Electrohire sub-brands.

  • Secure external sharing: Collections and permissions eliminate the need for tools like Dropbox and WeTransfer, improving control and consistency across client, media and print partners.

  • Smarter workflows: Leveraging IntelligenceBank’s Connectors with Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office, Chrome and other software used by the team.

  • Facial recognition & auto-tagging: Smart image technology helps locate staff, stakeholders and projects instantly – essential for showcasing McNab’s people and partnerships.

  • User adoption & scale: Intuitive UI, SSO and low training overhead have enabled fast rollout, with further expansion planned across McNab’s growing business.

Overview

The McNab Group has evolved from a family-run builder to one of Australia’s largest privately owned construction, development and property groups. With a growing number of companies, the need to manage brand and content with precision has never been greater.

As the business evolved, so too did the challenges of maintaining a consistent brand identity – with creative assets scattered across legacy drives, inconsistent file versions, and no clear source of truth for guidelines.

McNab turned to IntelligenceBank to solve these challenges and build a modern, scalable platform that reflects the company’s culture, structure and growth.

The Challenge

Before IntelligenceBank, McNab’s marketing team was working within a fragmented ecosystem – legacy network drives, clunky file sharing tools, and outdated brand documents that no longer reflected their evolving group identity.

“We invest hundreds of thousands of dollars each year in photography and videography. These assets represent the legacy of our clients and the contribution of everyone involved,” says Amy Maynard. “But our old system was slow and manual. We were constantly re-exporting files that already existed, with the ongoing risk of overwriting or losing critical content.”

Pain points included:

  • Asset sprawl: Over half a terabyte of high-value content was unstructured, making it hard to locate the right version quickly, (especially for time-critical tenders and signage).

  • Design inefficiencies: Designers were spending hours searching for project images or building marketing collateral with incomplete or outdated assets.
  • Brand inconsistencies: With McNab expanding into new divisions (eg. Development, Supplyhaus, Electrohire), stakeholders were often unclear on which logos, photography styles or cobranding rules applied.
  • Permission issues: Tools like Dropbox and WeTransfer caused problems with access, licensing and version control when working with clients, printers and media agencies.

The Solution

McNab launched its custom-built IntelligenceBank platform – internally dubbed the Brand Bank – to bring consistency and clarity across all visual storytelling, while making day-to-day workflows radically more efficient.

Key features used:

  • Adobe Connector: Allows drag-and-drop placement of proxy assets into layouts without downloading full-size images. On export, the plugin automatically replaces them with high-res files – a gamechanger for team-wide collaboration and IT support load.

  • Facial recognition + auto-tagging: Rapidly identifies staff or key moments across 45,000+ assets – invaluable when curating collateral for pitches, tenders / requests for proposals (RFPs).
  • Dynamic brand guidelines: Clear, accessible standards across McNab Group’s structure. Each division – including construction, supply and hire – has tailored photography, co-branding and logo rules, showcased in an interactive UI.
  • Smart sharing: Collections and permissions features allow curated, secure file delivery to clients, printers and stakeholders – no more inconsistent WeTransfer links or shared folders.
  • Custom filters: Assets are segmented by business unit, location, and content type – making it easy to find what’s relevant without sifting through the entire library.

“We needed more than a platform – we needed a living system for a living brand,” says Amy. “The Brand Bank reflects how our business actually works.”

For a lean marketing team, IntelligenceBank has been a gamechanger. It’s unlocked faster turnaround times, stronger creative, and a smoother experience for everyone we work with, inside and out.

The Results

  • 90%+ reduction in search time
using filters, tags and facial recognition, tasks that once took hours – like curating presentations or asset rich tenders (RFPs) – now take minutes.

  • 2-hour design tasks now take 2 minutes
The Adobe Connector revolutionised McNab’s workflow – with designers able to build layouts directly from the Brand Bank without ever leaving InDesign/Illustrator.
  • Stronger, scalable brand governance
With custom guidelines and filters, brand control is now baked into every workflow – especially critical as McNab expands its team and service areas.

  • Improved partner experience
Clients, print suppliers and real estate agencies receive brand-approved, curated assets via Collections – improving turnaround time and reducing errors.

  • Low-friction adoption
With SSO and intuitive navigation, user training has been minimal. Marketing and Sales were early adopters, and wider business units are now coming on board.

“We treat visual storytelling as a business-critical function. IntelligenceBank hasn’t just saved us time – it’s unlocked a whole new level of collaboration.”
